According to Jordan, “Since I started using Quiktrip, I have noticed that I am no longer drawn to technical manuals or trial and error learning, but rather a much more positive learning experience with a step-by-step approach that reinforces what I already know, but also does it in an exciting and engaging way.” Indeed, I agree that a comprehensive, step-by-step learning experience is the best way to get educated, but only if it provides a positive learning experience.
By taking this approach, Jordan starts his series with “preventing myself from being distracted by other factors.” For example, his first lesson is the use of the process of elimination.
“I am a former Hewlett Packard executive and former operations manager,” he states. His expertise and knowledge on the different HP products and functions make him a great candidate to teach you. “At Hewlett Packard we believe in what we do. We want to help people learn more about their information needs and solutions.”
The Quiktrip Case Study Solution teaches him how to learn more about HP products and services. He starts with a knowledge base that he says is designed to solve the greatest number of people’s problems. Unfortunately, it also serves as an “excuse” for him to move on to more difficult problems to teach you.
On top of that, he begins to introduce you to the product line. While he is able to teach you everything about HP products, there is no focus on those products that help you solve your problems. They are introduced as being “just another tool in the big picture.”
In other words, he is providing an overview of those HP products that will help you learn more about them, but doesn’t necessarily help you learn about how to use them. This is a problem because he seems to have a lot of free time and wants to be teaching you things that he can do and that he has already done. He should be teaching you how to use the products so that you can learn from them.
For example, he opens the book by saying, “The reader will enter your student’s home and will be greeted by your certified HP sales representative, who will ask for his/her name and telephone number.” His strategy here is twofold.
First, he gets your name and phone number so that he can call you again when he has something new to teach you. Secondly, he presents you with “a bill of goods” before you even look at the books or think about buying anything. You have to buy the product and complete the bill in order to make any progress.
The book provides the reader with a comprehensive listing of all the products and services that are covered in the Quiktrip Case Study Solution. While it provides everything you need to learn about HP products, it does not provide an introduction to the organization that produced these products or to the roles and responsibilities of these leaders.
Without understanding the organizational structure and the roles of the leadership, you cannot truly learn about HP or how to use the products effectively. And, Jordan does not explain how to implement HP’s software as a system of governance. Additionally, the Quiktrip Case Study Solution does not provide information on how to handle or interpret the history and past sales numbers.
Instead, he discusses how to lead sales lead management. While sales lead management is also an important part of using HP products, he discusses less than half of the methods of leading sales lead management.
